George Simons Jr
Seattle-based designer George Simons Jr. has a diverse career spanning environmental and industrial design, applied design research and branding strategies. At his core is a passion for integrating research and design to provoke business to better understand and act upon its opportunities. He practices design as a human-centered, objective and responsive pursuit, informed by and interwoven with user stories and experiences. He seeks balanced solutions of function, emotion and relevance. Simons has held leading positions at Steelcase, his own consultancy Fahrenheit, IDEO and most recently, NBBJ. His work has been widely published, exhibited in museums that include the Cooper-Hewitt and MOMA, and recognized with numerous awards. In his spare time, Simons loves to rebuild classic cars over lunch and can bake 30-minute brownies in 20 minutes.
