Manfred Petri studied Humanities at York University and Industrial Design at Humber College in Toronto. Petri joined Geiger International in 1980. As Design Director for the next 10 years, he designed numerous category-defining modular casegoods and systems products, including Petri Furnishings, Petri CaseSystem, and Triuna Collection, a highly acclaimed executive casegoods line. Petri was instrumental to Geiger's growth in the 1980s, and his designs are still in production today. In 1990, Petri established his own practice, offering product, display and showroom design. Petri's designs have been recognized with numerous awards and praise. As one reviewer stated, Petri's designs "bear his casegoods' customary stylistic fingerprint: handsome proportions, subtle and precise details and compact scale."
