A clever stool design that supports seated movement

Leeway Stool

The Leeway Stool maximizes freedom of movement within a minimal footprint. The cantilevered crescent-shaped backrest attaches only to the back legs, leaving room to move into different seated positions. Pair the metal frame with a wood or polyurethane seat/backrest. Wood seats can be upholstered.

Design Story

Keiji Takeuchi wanted to free people from being confined to their chair. His desire to accommodate the natural movements of the seated human body led him to the open design of Leeway. In his words, “My work was not done until people were happy to sit.”

The crescent-shaped backrest curves forward enough to allow the sitter to rest their elbows.
