Design Story

There's an unspoken appeal to certain ordinary objects that just feels right. Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa calls this phenomenon "Super Normal." His exploration of it results in designs like Saiba: simultaneously familiar and special.

Refined proportions

Saiba's profile is deliberately restrained: a seat and back shaped to feel immediately familiar, with nothing added that hasn't earned its place.
