BassamFellows
BassamFellows was founded in 2003 by Australian architect and designer Craig Bassam and American brand strategist/creative director Scott Fellows. Bassam grew up in Sydney, and modernism was a magnetic force for him. That magnetism drew Bassam to New Canaan, Connecticut, where giants of mid-century architecture lived and practiced. Fellows was raised in New York. After earning an MBA at Harvard, he worked in branding for Bally and Ferragamo. Both have worked in Europe, where the use of fine leather and wood was influential.

“It’s all about merging the rationality and clarity of modernism with the warmth and texture of nature.”

Bassam and Fellows united around a shared vision to bring craftsmanship back to contemporary living. Their Craftsman Modern style centers on traditional modernist principles: honest materials, solid construction, beauty, and utility with the luxury of natural materials.

Wood, brass, and leather are the principal materials that inform Bassam’s furniture pieces. Their longtime partnership with Geiger has generated five product lines, including Mantle, Tuxedo, and New Canaan.
