“I want people to feel comfortable with my work, so they feel it’s created especially for them.”

After college, Goetz immersed himself in the worlds of product design and exhibition design. His passion for furniture design led him to create exclusive pieces for private commissions. His first contract furniture collection was the Washington Avenue series, followed by the Full Twist Chair and award-winning Taper Chair. Over the course of his career, Goetz has designed a desk used by a former U.S. President, lounge chairs used for interviews on NBC’s Today, and the seating for the U.S. Treasury Department in Washington, D.C.

The design for Taper reflects Goetz’s passion for addressing evolving human needs. He says, "The way we perform work is constantly changing; therefore, so should our chairs.” According to Goetz, emerging technologies also influence human behavior and work environments. He says, "I am always excited to understand and embrace these changes and support healthy work habits.”
