Bumper Conference Chair

The tub-shaped swivel chair used by George Washington in his Mount Vernon estate inspired Bumper. The deceptively simple design is upholstered almost entirely from one continuous piece of material with minimal seams. Available with standard or low arms to clear the underside of conference tables.

Design Story

Chronic back problems plagued designer Ward Bennett throughout his life. As a result, his pursuit of seated comfort bordered on obsession. He refined his Bumper Chair with a comfortable pitch and short seat to relieve pressure on the sitter’s lower back.
