Geiger Introduces Layer Tables™

Layer Tables, a collection of glass-topped occasional tables, started with layering as its central idea; both layering in terms of space planning—providing tables that can be layered into architectural settings—as well as layering in terms of the actual construction of an occasional table, with primary and secondary surfaces. Designed for Geiger by BassamFellows, the tables are also part of the Herman Miller Collection.

Whether used in a work or home setting, Layer Tables are complementary players. So no matter how they are specified, their purposeful design does not overpower a room.

This is particularly important in collaborative work settings, where circulation space is just as important as seating and surface area for keeping people and ideas flowing. The featured L-shaped corner table configuration serves people seated along the run of a corner sofa or sectional while also allowing people to approach their seated colleagues from across a room without having to navigate a large block table.

The tables have a minimal structure—just a distinctive cross-bracing that’s visible through the glass top—that makes it easy to build up layers of storage. The tables’ natural materials, soft curves, and subtle detailing evoke a sensuality common to other BassamFellows designs.
