With degrees from Hong Kong Polytechnic and Cranbrook Academy of Art, Eric Chan is founder and creative director of New York-based ECCO Design. The firm has worked with companies in several major worldwide consumer segments, including Herman Miller, Virgin, Toyota, LG Electronics and Lenovo. Chan was named by ID magazine as one of the 40 most influential designers in the United States, and Business Week hailed him as "one of the new breed of ingenious American designers." His work is featured in the permanent collections of the London Design Museum, the Israel Museum, the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum and the Museum of Modern Art, New York, among others. In 2006, Eric Chan designed the Foray Executive Task Chair for Geiger, marrying executive-level luxury with Herman Miller's proprietary ergonomic seating technology.
